Schreiner Gallery exhibition applications

The Schreiner Gallery Exhibitions

The Tatham Art Gallery has the pleasure of hosting solo and group exhibitions. The Schreiner Gallery in the Tatham Art Gallery is a temporary exhibition space for artists and groups working primarily in the Msunduzi region.

These exhibitions are accompanied by walkabouts, workshops, or artist-in-residence programmes. These exhibitions have become regular favourites on our programme. We would like to invite artists and art groups to make portfolio submissions for exhibitions. In order to determine whether an exhibition would be suitable for the Tatham Art Gallery we need as much information as possible. We would like to emphasise that incomplete submissions will not be accepted. The Education staff at the Gallery is available to provide feedback and guidance on the preparation of your portfolio.

A checklist is included in the submission form and on the website and artists must submit a completed checklist with their portfolio submissions. Submissions will be circulated to the Exhibitions Committee before selection.

Schreiner Gallery Portfolio Submissions

The Schreiner Gallery is dedicated to smaller temporary exhibitions. The Tatham Art Gallery would like to broaden the scope of exhibitions held in The Schreiner Gallery. Anybody who has an idea for an exhibition is invited to make a proposal to the Exhibitions Committee.

The Gallery is available for solo and group exhibitions. In addition professional, student or amateur curators can make proposals for art and art-related exhibitions. The general public is also invited to make suggestions about the type of exhibitions they would like to see. Proposals for exhibitions can therefore be submitted throughout the year for consideration.

Proposals need to include the following: a proposed title and motivation for the exhibition, a brief CV of the participating artist/s or curator, and at least three examples of work to be submitted - in the case of artworks, the physical works rather than photographs.

Selection criteria
